11/7/01 - Fuck all of you

Baseball has officially broken up.

Seeing as I run the website, I think it's fair to say that I will not be writing happy thoughts about this, especially since I was not consulted in the decision. The issue breaks down as follows: our guitar player left over sad personal issues involving the inability to cope with--shudder--real life; Andy, the tromboner and, for the most part, songwriter, asks everyone else what they think about the band continuing; everyone except Cait (who has never played in a band prior to this) thinks it should continue; practice does not happen for over a month; I get word from Brandon who lives in Vermont that Baseball has officially broken up.

What the fuck?

This band started because I was trying to start a ska band on the Albany Musicians Board and Andy saw my posts, and in the end i get shunned like this? I even made the fucking website for fucksake! I think its also fair to note that when Baseball's continuation was in question, I told Andy to please avoid having his opinion swayed by Cait, who has never really given a flying fuck about Baseball and, as most know, has been dating Andy for over a year now; however, my words were twisted into "Jim thinks Cait runs Andy's life." A little defensive?

At any rate, I'm sure I'm gonna be bitched at to no end about this, fucked out of the scene and board and whatnot just like Bob and (dare I say) One Screw Loose a year ago. Fair enough. I'm leaving these words to be accepted at face value, take it or leave it. Also, if anyone has cause to plan anything offensive or violent on me, please act on it; I can't stand people who say shit to sound tough, and i've already seen quite a bit of that in East Greenbush.

If anyone is asking him or herself "Why did Jim post all this crazy personal shit on the site?" the answer should be fairly obvious: "Because he feels quite dicked around over this thing." No one wanted my opinion before the breakup so it seems logical that no one should get too upset about it now, seeing as they technically should still not care. Also, Andy: please do not tell me that Cait doesn't run your life; any guy would say that even in light of the strongest evidence against.

Otherwise, if anyone wants to pick up instruments with me and jam I'm open for anything. I'm hoping that most people that read this aren't blinded by a sense of self-vindication and are able to see my logic.
